The African Film Festival 2017 Schedule
Schedule is now posted for film screenings, downloadable at www.theafricanfilmfestival.org/schedule. Selected films trailers have been highlighted since the beginning of the season and are now rounding up, press releases have been distributed to various media houses and members of the public to help generate awareness, through much of that, there’s eager anticipation created and many are looking forward to some of our best films produced by you. Not withstanding, there’s much that still needs to be done. The time is now to rally up your community to come out and support your hard work. A film is as good as its audience.
Now is the time to start making arrangements to attend with the festival a mere weeks away. Filmmakers are strongly urged to notify the festival of their intent to attend. Filmmakers are advised to take advantage of TAFF special room rates at our partner hotels before they increase. Rates are good until June 15th. And the nominees are…
The long awaited moment is here. TAFF will soon announce its 2017 nominees. Our panel of judges have been hard at work choosing from a wide selection of films submitted by our filmmakers. At long last, the painstaking process is drawing to a close and in the coming days, TAFF 2017 nominees will be announced. There are sixteen awards this year and five contenders for each award. The competition will officially begin with the announcement.

TAFF welcomes volunteers. Volunteers are a vital part of The Festival and volunteering
comes with many privileges, including ALL ACCESS PASS to all our events. Volunteers have
opportunities to help shape the event, making it a memorable experience for our filmmakers and
attendees. In exchange for your time, you are given the opportunity to attend ALL Festival
events, including After Parties and Behind the Scene activities.
